Managing Your Collection

Your collection is the heart of Afolio. Each set you own is tracked as an individual instance with its own acquisition details, condition, and parts inventory.

Adding Sets

Browse the Catalog section in the sidebar to find sets. Click a set, then click Add to My Collection. The set appears in your collection immediately.

On iPhone and iPad: open All Sets under Catalog on the home screen or in the sidebar, tap a set, and tap Add to My Collection. The button then changes to View in Collection, which opens your copy.

Set Details

Select a set from your collection to view its details. The detail pane has three tabs:

Overview — hero image, set info, instructions, minifigures in the set
Inventory — acquisition details (how you got it, price paid, condition), disposal tracking, and the parts checklist button
Parts — browse all parts in the set with color and category filters

On iPhone and iPad, the three tabs are a segmented control at the top of the set.

Multiple Copies

Own more than one copy of a set? On Pro, each copy is tracked separately with its own condition, acquisition details, and parts progress. The free tier covers one copy per set. PRO

Click Add Copy on the set's Inventory tab to add another copy. On iPhone and iPad, when you have more than one copy, they appear as buttons (Copy 1, Copy 2, …) above the details — tap one to edit it.

Favorites

Mark any set as a favorite by clicking the star icon. Favorite sets appear in the Favorites sidebar section for quick access. On iPhone and iPad, tap the star at the top of the set; favorites are on the home screen's Favorites tile.

Wishlist

Add sets you don't own yet to your wishlist. Browse the catalog, find a set, and click the heart icon. Wishlist items appear in the Wishlist sidebar section.

Trash

Deleted sets go to the Trash. You can restore them or permanently delete them from the Trash view. Trashed sets don't count toward your collection totals.

On iPhone and iPad: to move a copy to the Trash, tap Move to Trash at the bottom of its Inventory tab. Open Trash from the home screen (shown under the collection tiles when it isn't empty) or the iPad sidebar. In the Trash, swipe a set to the right to restore it, or to the left to delete it permanently. Empty Trash… at the top deletes everything in it.

Undo and Redo

Changed your mind? Most changes to your collection can be undone: adding a set or copy, moving to the Trash, restoring, deleting permanently, emptying the Trash, editing a copy's details, favorites, the wishlist, parts checklist counts, minifigures, and smart collections.

Mac: choose Edit → Undo (⌘Z) or Redo (⌘⇧Z). The menu names the change it will undo, such as “Undo Move to Trash”.
iPhone and iPad: shake to undo, or press ⌘Z on a keyboard. After moving something to the Trash, deleting it, emptying the Trash, removing a wishlist item or deleting a smart collection, a banner with an Undo button appears for a few seconds.

Typing in a copy's details counts as one change until you pause for a few seconds. Undo history lasts until you quit the app. Undoing also updates your other devices through iCloud. If a change arrives from another device for something you could undo, the undo history is cleared so an undo can't overwrite it. On the Mac, each window has its own undo history, starting over when you switch to another Afolio window.

iCloud Sync

Afolio keeps your collection in sync across every iPhone, iPad and Mac signed in to the same Apple Account. Your sets, parts checklist progress, minifigures, wishlist, and smart collections all sync automatically. iCloud sync is free and on by default.

What syncs — everything you enter yourself: sets and their details, parts checklists, minifigures, wishlist items, and smart collections
What stays on each device — the LEGO catalog, price guides, instruction links, and API keys. Each device builds these from its own catalog download, so a set added on one device shows its full details on the others shortly after it arrives.
Status and on/off — see Settings → General → iCloud (on iPhone and iPad, tap the gear on the home screen or sidebar, then General). Turning sync off or on takes effect the next time you open Afolio.

Signing out of iCloud removes the synced collection from that device; it's downloaded again when you sign back in

Upgrading from an earlier version? The first time you open this version, Afolio moves your collection into its new sync-ready storage and checks that everything arrived. It keeps a backup of your old data in the Backups folder (Settings → Data → Show in Finder), including a copy of your collection as a CSV file in the same format as Export Data. To save that copy somewhere else, choose Settings → Data → Export Pre-iCloud Backup…. If the move can't be completed, Afolio tells you once, keeps your backup safe, and offers to export it — email support@afolio.app and we'll help you restore it. If you used Afolio on more than one Mac before, both collections are combined. Copies of the same collection (for example a Mac set up with Migration Assistant) are merged automatically, but sets you entered separately on each Mac will appear twice.

Free Tier Limits

Free users can track up to 25 sets. The sidebar shows your current count (e.g. "17/25"); on iPhone and iPad it's in the stats at the top of the home screen or sidebar. Unlock Afolio Pro for unlimited tracking.
